Sichan Siv was nominated by President George W. Bush in 2001 and unanimously confirmed by the Senate as a United States ambassador to the United Nations, serving until 2006. His book “Golden Bones” tells the fascinating story of his escape from the killing fields of Cambodia, and his remarkable American journey from refugee to ambassador.

GUANTANAMO
How did we let Guantánamo happen? What is the current status of Guantánamo? What does the future hold for detainees and for America?
Austin lawyer Dicky Grigg is a former President of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and in 2007 was named Lawyer of the Year by Texas Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
Grigg is one of hundreds of U.S. lawyers who are volunteer members of the "Guantanamo Bar Association," organized by the Center for Constitutional Rights to represent the Guantanamo detainees.

A BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO
CHINESE CULTURE AND CHINA-U.S. RELATIONS
Dong Wang, Cultural Attaché, with the Chinese Consulate in Houston, was born in Henan Province, central China in 1969. After he graduated from China University of the People in Beijing in 1995 with a Master’s Degree of International Politics, he has been working in the China Ministry of Culture. He was assigned to the Chinese Consulate in San Francisco from 2000-2004. Since 2006, he has worked in Chinese Consulate in Houston.

Sehba Sarwar is a writer and multi-disciplinary artist who moves between Pakistan and the US. Born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan, Sarwar‘s writings have appeared in anthologies, newspapers, and magazines in India, Pakistan, and the US in publications including Callaloo, The New York Times’ Sunday Magazine, and Houston Chronicle.
She is currently based in Houston, where she serves as founding director of Voices Breaking Boundaries.
